HISTORY
1988
Decofrut is founded in Rotterdam, Holland, by its current chairman Manuel José Alcaino.
1994
The first inspections begin in Italy and England and later expanding to Spain, Russia and the rest of Europe.
1991
The Research Department is born, focused on providing information, research, statistics and intelligence on international fresh fruit markets.
1998
Decofrut expands into the American market by opening an office in the Port of Philadelphia. That same year the Miami office was inaugurated and the following year the Los Angeles office was opened. Subsequently, operations were opened in McAllen and Houston, Nogales and a wide range of seasonal operations in different states.
1999
Operations were opened in Mexico for products imported into that country, and then inspections at origin were incorporated for products destined for the American market.
2002
Operations begin in Chile to provide Quality Control services at origin.
2001
Expanded into the Asian market, opening the first office in Hong Kong, and then began operations in China, Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
2011
Operations begin in Peru, where the entire fruit-producing area is currently covered.
2013
The Berries Division is created with specialized services in these species for producers (at origin) and importers (at destination).
2017
The first inspections are carried out in South Africa and the Food Safety Division is born.
2014
The Retail Division begins to operate with specialized services for Supermarket Chains.
2018
Operations opened in the United Arab Emirates, covering Dubai and Saudi Arabia.
